Madani News, 11/02/2021, the Madani Berkelanjutan Foundation held a Green Budget Tagging and Scoring System training from Thursday to Friday, October 28-29, in West Kalimantan Province. This training aimed to improve the capacity of West Kalimantan Provincial Government Organizations (OPDs) in budget management and determining green priority programs, enabling them to play a role in mobilizing both public and non-public funding sources.
Nadia Hadad, Executive Director of the Sustainable Madani Foundation, stated that the implementation of this activity is crucial as an effort by non-state actors to collaborate with the government in achieving Indonesia's climate commitment targets.
" Collaboration between stakeholders is crucial amidst the current climate crisis. We must be fair, not only to ourselves, but also to the environment and the climate ," said Nadia Hadad.
Agreeing with this, the Head of the West Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Ir. Sukaliman, MT also mentioned the importance of climate justice.
" I agree with Ms. Nadia Hadad earlier. We need to be fair to the environment, not just to ourselves. Because this environment belongs not only to us but also to our children and grandchildren ," said Sukaliman.
Sukaliman also emphasized the importance of the Green Budget Tagging and Scoring System training held by the Sustainable Madani Foundation. " It's urgent for our colleagues from various regional government agencies (OPDs) to understand the issue of tagging to finance our projects ," Sukaliman added.
Discussion on Green Budget Tagging and Scoring System in West Kalimantan Province
In this training, several speakers were present, such as Joko Tri Haryanto from the Fiscal Policy Agency, Ministry of Finance, Rico Arya Radestya, SE, M, Si., Expert Staff for Regional Development Planning, Directorate General of Bina Bangda, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Doddy Afianto, Expert Staff for Regional Development Planning, Directorate General of Bina Bangda, Ministry of Home Affairs.
During the training, Joko Tri Haryanto explained that budget tagging's function is to consolidate funding. "We need to understand that public funds are insufficient. If regions rely solely on public funds, it's difficult. Budget tagging also represents a paradigm shift, as we shouldn't use just 30% of public funds. We must use 70% of funds from non-state actors," Joko said.
Rico Arya Radestya said that our task in tagging is to emphasize our commitment to improving the green economy.
" What we plan must be the basis for formulating the budget. It's impossible to aim to reduce GHG emissions by 29% independently without it appearing in the planning and budgeting documents ," Rico stressed.
