135 Social Forestry Permits in South Sumatra Are Published
This week, Luluk’s Update conveyed the news related to social forestry. Recorded at least 135 social forestry permits have been issued and have been utilized by 15,834 Heads of Families around the forest area in South Sumatra. Based on data on social forestry permits published by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), the area of social forests in South Sumatra reached a total of 103,692.80 hectares.
Social Forestry Permits that have been published in South Sumatra consist of 23 village forests with an area of 32,961 Hectares (ha), community forests as many as 43 units with an area of 22,627.64 ha, people's plant forests (HTR) as many as 61 units with an area of 19,451,32 ha, customary forests (HA) 2 units with an area of 379.7 ha and forestry partnerships 6 units with an area of 28.273.
In addition, there is also news related to the Indigenous People of Long Isun is fighting for sovereignty over forests and land. And Riau Province which has established the emergency alert status of Forest and Land Fires.
