Biofuels in Indonesia's NDC Roadmap

NDC or Nationally Determined Contribution is a document containing a country's climate commitments and actions communicated to the world through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Indonesia's NDC Roadmap details the strategy for implementing mitigation actions to achieve the greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set in the NDC. The Forestry and Land (FOLU) and energy sectors will be the focus of emission reductions to achieve the 2030 NDC targets.

The energy sector's emissions reduction target is 11% by 2030. One strategy in the energy sector is to utilize biofuels as part of new and renewable energy (NRE) in the sub-sectors: industry, power, and transportation.

Substituting fuel oil for biofuel is the main strategy for reducing emissions in the transportation sector.
