Fact Sheet: 'Prohibition' Imports of Indonesian Palm Oil by the European Union
This fact sheet captures a number of sides of Indonesia's public unrest regarding the EU Renewable Energy Directive on the proposed elimination of the contribution of vegetable fuels based on palm oil. The government and the Indonesian palm oil industry have reacted quite strongly and firmly over this issue, including in the coverage of the mass media. This fact sheet is compiled by eight civil society organizations that actively strive to improve palm oil governance in Indonesia, as well as answering the anxiety of a number of parties regarding the sustainability of this line of business.
