Josi Khatarina is an expert in environmental governance with more than 20 years of experience in public policy development and advocacy, legal research, facilitation, and program management. Her expertise includes forest governance, environmental law, indigenous peoples' rights, and inclusive, evidence-based approaches to sustainable development. She has extensive experience at the national and regional levels, including in regulatory reform, REDD+ policy design, and institutional capacity building. Having been involved in the formulation of national regulations such as the forestry permit moratorium, peatland protection, and the strengthening of indigenous peoples' rights, Josi has played a strategic role in integrating environmental issues into public policy. He is also an active lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, and has worked with various national and international institutions such as UNDP, Chemonics, and CIFOR. His academic background includes a Ph.D. and two LL.M. degrees in environmental law and policy from the University of Melbourne and the University of Kent.
