The National Low Carbon Action Plan Planning and Monitoring Application, or AKSARA, is key to accelerating the implementation of the Low Carbon and Climate Resilient Development (PRKBI) program in regions, including Maluku Province. This was conveyed by Irfan Darliazi Yananto, SE, MERE, from the Directorate of Environment, Ministry of National Development Planning or National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), as a resource person for the AKSARA Technical Guidance event in a series of events Strengthening Green Programs in the Implementation of Indonesia's Climate Commitments in Maluku Province, which was held on February 15-17, 2023, in Ambon, Maluku.

Irfan Darliazi Yananto also stated that as an emission absorber, Maluku Province is a highly suitable  pilot project  for AKSARA implementation collaboration in support of the PRKBI program. Furthermore, Maluku itself faces various challenges closely related to the potential impacts of climate change, such as the threat of sea level rise in several parts of the region.

Ifran also expressed his hope that AKSARA would provide regions with technical information and documents, allowing anyone working on projects to access the data and easily and continuously monitor developments and update them  . Furthermore, the field data and information in AKSARA could validate and synergize planning documents between the central and regional governments.

Other speakers from the AKSARA technical guidance event were the Low Carbon Development Indonesia (LCDI) Expert Team, namely Abdurrohman Hidayat as the IT and Satu Data Team Leader, Aisyah Putri Lestari, as the Waste Emission Analyst, Novia Mustikasari, as the Regional Liaison Officer, and Jeanly Syahputri, as the Transportation Analyst.

IT and Satu Data Team Leader, Abdurrohman Hidayat, who provided an introduction and presentation on the importance of utilizing AKSARA, stated that AKSARA's goal is to provide the latest data and information related to low-carbon development implementation actions according to predetermined sectors in the region, to ensure credibility and transparency. Low Carbon Development Actions themselves are divided into six sectors: energy, waste, transportation, forestry, agriculture, and blue  carbon .

Abdurrohman hopes that AKSARA will improve the implementation of low-carbon development because it is integrated. "We hope that with AKSARA, agencies at the district and city levels can contribute to reporting on what's happening in the regions, resulting in more detailed reporting data down to the district and city levels," Abdurrohman said.

In the AKSARA technical guidance activity, participants received detailed material related to the AKSARA application from the LCDI team and directly practiced filling in actions into the AKSARA application, which is hoped to be implemented sustainably in the future.
