Addressing Climate Change Control with a National Resilience Approach

There were many interesting things at this year's Climate Festival held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). Well, Luluk's Update friends, this time we found news related to KLHK Minister Siti Nurbaya stating that climate change mitigation will be handled using a national resilience approach.

National Resilience is formulated as a dynamic condition of the Indonesian nation in all integrated aspects of life, which is a combination of tenacity and toughness that contains the ability to develop all the potential resources owned, in order to face and overcome all forms of Challenges, Threats, Obstacles, and Disturbances (TAHG), both from within the country and from abroad, as well as directly or indirectly, which can endanger the integrity, identity, existence of the nation and state of the Republic of Indonesia.

In this regard, based on data from the Vulnerability Index Data Information System (SIDIK) developed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry using 2014 Village Potential data, it is indicated that many villages in Indonesia have moderate to very high levels of vulnerability.

Therefore, the government needs to prepare anticipatory measures by increasing the adaptive capacity of all parties and reducing exposure to the impacts of climate change.
