BBN (Biofuel) in RUEN (National General Energy Plan)
The National Energy General Plan (RUEN) is a central government policy concerning national energy management plans. This policy also serves as a guideline for national energy management. Furthermore, biofuels are also one of the types of renewable energy (NRE) referenced by the RUEN.
In the RUEN, there is a target for the renewable energy mix of 23% in 2025 and 31% in 2050. Meanwhile, the minimum target for biofuel production in 2025 is 11.6 million KL in the form of biodiesel (B30), 3.4 million KL for BioEthanol (B20), and 0.1 million KL for Bioavtur.
Meanwhile, the BBN development strategy is to assign BUMN and/or BUMD to produce and purchase BBN, prepare a roadmap of priority crops for BBN raw materials, provide 4 million ha of land to meet the 2025 production target, prepare regulations related to land conversion for energy land (former mining land, abandoned land, and energy forest land), and prioritize the use of BBN raw materials outside of priority food crop products.
