Yes, the Chilean government announced that Chile is stepping down as the host of two major conferences as well as one of the COP 25 held this year. Chilean President Sebastián Piñera on October 30, 2019 said the decision was taken because his administration wanted to prioritize stabilizing public order after massive demonstrations were widespread there.

The COP25 Climate Conference itself, has been scheduled to take place on December 2 to 14, 2019, while the APEC agenda should take place on November 16-17. Chile was actually voted to host the COP25 a month after Brazil withdrew. Costa Rica who became the main candidate for representatives from Latin America after Brazil had also resigned first because of the cost to host.

Chile has set up a location in Parque Bicentenario Cerllos in Santiago de Chile covering an area of 30 ha as a place to do. Even very large white tents have been established for plenary or plenary locations, negotiations, delegates, VIPs and side events capable of accommodating more than 10,000 conference attendees.
