Does the Consistent Government Encourage Low Carbon Development?

Assistant Deputy for Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Economic Finance, Rizal Edwin Manansang, said that until now, the government has consistently developed low-carbon development in Indonesia.
One step that is sought related to this is to encourage the private sector as a major player to reduce emissions. Related to this, the government is pushing for the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) program. JCM is a system for working with developing countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, where the results of the reduction are rated as contributed by partner countries and Japan.
JCM is also a forum for these efforts as well as part of the implementation of bilateral economic cooperation, technology, capacity building, and investment between the Government of Indonesia and Japan.
Implementation of JCM in Indonesia received the most advanced predicate among 17 other countries that also cooperate with the Government of Japan, which is as many as 35 projects. JCM Indonesia already has a complete infrastructure in accordance with international standards and prioritizes contributing to sustainable development.
