The article emphasizes that the climate crisis is not only an environmental issue but also a matter of social justice, as its impacts are felt most severely by those who have contributed the least to its causes. Indigenous Peoples, farmers, fishers, women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups face growing threats to their livelihoods, health, and access to natural resources as a result of climate change. Therefore, Indonesia's climate policies should be guided by the principles of climate justice by recognizing the rights of vulnerable communities, protecting their living environments, and ensuring their meaningful participation in decision-making processes.

Furthermore, it also stresses that climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts should not focus solely on reducing greenhouse gas emissions but must also address long-standing social inequalities. The transition toward low-carbon development should be inclusive by safeguarding community rights, ensuring the equitable distribution of benefits, and providing restoration and support for those affected by climate impacts. By making climate justice the foundation of its policies, Indonesia can achieve development that is not only environmentally sustainable but also socially equitable and beneficial for all segments of society.
