The Indigenous Peoples Bill (MHA Bill) is the main requirement of customary community legal accommodation that is recognized and protected by the constitution through Article 18 B paragraph (2) and Article 28 I paragraph (3) of the 1945 Constitution, so that it has a high urgency to be immediately passed. The existence of indigenous peoples in Indonesia and its traditional culture is very vital in efforts to adapt and mitigate climate change. Unfortunately, the fate of the MHA Bill continues to drag on even though it has been established as one of the National Legislation Priorities (Prolegnas) since 2009. Throughout the process of legislation, the MHA Bill is also criticized by many circles, both regarding the substance of the bill that has not favored indigenous peoples or the absence of political will from the government to submit the List of Inventory Issues (DIM) which is a condition of this bill is again discussed. In order to ensure the quality of the people's representatives who run for the 2019 election and its partiality to the environment and indigenous peoples, #Vote4Forest reviewed the process of discussing the MHA Bill and the perspective of members of the House of Representatives involved in it towards indigenous peoples.
